I love the Fall. There is a new & bright crispness in the air. Leaves change to bright firey oranges, yellows, and reds. Autumn brings a cozy energy that makes me want to layer my clothes and wear a scarf even if it's not cold outside. It brings to mind snuggling next to a fire, celebratory drum circles, and taking long walks in my favorite pancho. I admit, autumn is my favorite season.
The Autumn equinox, which signals the beginning of fall, is a day of perfect balance. On this day, there are exactly 12 hours of daylight and 12 hours of darkness. After the vernal or autumnal equinox, our days will contain more darkness than light. It is the twilight of our year, when we prepare for the rest and hibernation of winter. It represents maturity and the coming of wisdom.
Autumn is a time to harvest things planted in the spring and summer. To "cash in" on energies cultivated in past months. For some, it is a time to plant a winter garden of greens and lettuces for the winter months. What have we cultivated that is ready for harvest? What will we plant?
As a global community we harvest together. Our chidren and our children's children will also harvest the legacy that we consciously or unconsciously plant. Together, let's make a deliberate decision this season to plant seeds of a joyful and healthy global harvest. From very simple things, like smiling at someone on the street or choosing to use green dish detergent (from a reputable green company), to bigger commitments, like purchasing green energy or urban homesteading, we can all plant seeds for a happy harvest.
This time of seasonal dormancy is the perfect time to reflect on our lives and decide what refinements we'd like to undergo. What changes we will initiate as we head into our cacoons, only to emerge in the spring as greater versions of ourselves better aligned with our chosen purpose.
We, at DRM, wish you all the bliss you can possible imagine as you continue to live your purpose and contribute to our global harvest
In peace and abundance,
