Grasping at Straws

Grasping at straws

Undiscerning paws

That bat away what I want to hold

As it swings back

On a predicted track

I remember what that girl once told

Its not the way you kiss me but the way you want to

That reminds me why I'm here

You’re not listening you’ve nothing to prove

And you have nothing to fear

Just lay your head down on me

Put your arms back around me

Forget what had scared you

Well I may be leaving

But you’re not the reason

And this is not nearly through

Its not the way you kiss me but the way you want to

That reminds me why I'm here

Your not listening you have nothing to prove

And you have nothing to fear

So she whispered sweetly

Not at all discretely

she'd kiss me in her dreams every night

And as the train pulled out

On an outbound route

I watched till it went out of sight

I'll get back on

It aint been that long

And she's still fresh in my bed

I'm not that strong

But I'll hold on

And kiss her in my dreams instead

Its not the way you kiss me but the way you want to

That reminds me why I'm here

Your not listening you have nothing to prove

And you have nothing to fear
