When you first go raw, your main fear might be: "what in the world am I going to eat?" How will I survive on rabbit food? Can only nuts, vegetables and fruit withstand the test of time? After all, being a raw foodist is not about following a fad diet, it is a whole new life style. At the beginning, you will most likely crave some cooked foods, because it is all new and you are still addicted to your old pattern of eating. The best way to fight this addiction is to create satisfying dishes that resemble your old cooked dishes (such as a raw spaghetti), but with raw organic ingredients.

At times, you have to trick your senses into believing that you are still eating those cooked dishes by making raw food recipes that resemble cooked food recipes .This is a great transitional tool; you will be excited about your tantalizing raw food recipes rather than focusing on what you are missing out on. After all, the raw food diet is about abundance, not deprivation.

Next, you must create a staple dish, just like when you used to cook food and you had an easy staple dish that you ate once or twice a week. So it only makes sense that you would create your own raw food staple dish. This is perhaps the best advice from me to you, to avoid falling off the wagon. So when you don't know what to make for lunch or dinner, your mind races... makes sure it races in the right direction... the direction to a raw healthy recipe!

It will take some time to build new habits, but pretty soon it will be second nature. Keep two or three recipes on hand in your kitchen until you can do them with your eyes closed. Once you have mastered your new recipes, try other ones and create new versions of the old ones. Have friends over and see them impressed at what you can do with raw food.

To your health,

Gabrielle
