on the land long ago
love was taken away,
by the wind, by time,
by an obligation
to an understanding-
a philosophy to a world,
no longer existing.

It took the elders
to dancing out a prayer,
to opening a letter
delivered seven years before.
It took seeds to be
lovingly planted and protected
far deep beneath the cedar tree.

And ... now it will take
two to walk it,
two to dream it,
two to love it
all the way to the end;
transmuting into a deeper understanding......

By day I teach art to children; by night I make art. My students, the boxer dog and two cats who choose to live with me provide endless inspiration through their life force and joy.
Capturing spirit through intuition and symbol is primary to my creative process. Story in the form of myth, nature, poetry, and fashion provides fuel for the fire. Paint, pastel, and recycled materials appear at precise moments of need. The resulting alchemy remains deeply mysterious to me.
